"פתרון בעיות הוא חלק חשוב בהוראת המתמטיקה. אי אפשר לדמיין שליטה במתמטיקה בלי לפתור בעיות. פתרון בעיות בדרכים שונות מאפשר לתלמידים לפתח חשיבה יצירתית, ובכך לטפח התמדה וחוסן, להתגבר על קשיים בהם הם נתקלים בפתרון בעיות חיים שונות"
